Can the Government be Charitable?
If DOGE and the Trump administration are going to achieve significant government reform, they'll need Congress, and they'll need the correct principled arguments to make it through what is sure to be a bitter fight with the entrenched bureaucracy. In this episode, I explore one of these crucial arguments: charity is no part of the legislative function. Our disregard for that concept has put us on a path to fiscal meltdown and is eroding morality.

This episode on government “charitable” spending was a good listen. As a society, we need to figure out how to help those in need, without using resources from folks that don’t want to make them available. But the conundrum you highlighted is the issue, how to convince enough people (including those currently benefiting from that spending) that a change to a better way is not only a good idea, but necessary. Thanks for the episode Dustin.
