My talk with Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen on his time in the Arizona legislature and issues surrounding his faith and political views.

Monday Dec 09, 2024

Join me as I explore scriptures and prophetic teachings on issues of war and peace and how these should inform our views on foreign policy.

If DOGE and the Trump administration are going to achieve significant government reform, they'll need Congress, and they'll need the correct principled arguments to make it through what is sure to be a bitter fight with the entrenched bureaucracy. In this episode, I explore one of these crucial arguments: charity is no part of the legislative function. Our disregard for that concept has put us on a path to fiscal meltdown and is eroding morality.

Monday Nov 11, 2024

I discuss the emotional meltdown from Kamala Harris supporters and how we should respond. BYU professor condemns Trump voters. Trump supporter lectures the brethren.

Tuesday Oct 29, 2024

My thoughts on voting for Donald Trump as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The media has convinced many Latter-Day Saints and other Christians that Trump is a historically bad character and a threat to democracy, the rule of law, and the Constitution. I explore why those claims are well overblown by examining Trump's actions on, and leading up to, January 6, and by comparing him to past presidents. I also discuss the policies that should animate LDS voters and why, in spite of Trump’s less-than-admirable record, a Trump administration will likely do far more to advance those policies than Kamala Harris.

Thursday Oct 24, 2024

I sit down with Brad Denton, the managing partner of the Mesa, Arizona-based law firm, Denton, Peterson, Dunn. Brad is a faithful Latter-Day Saint and is undecided in the Presidential Election. Please forgive the poor audio quality (I'm working on it!). Brad is super smart, very well-informed, and has great insights so it will be worth it to turn the volume up and do your best to hear.

Tuesday Oct 15, 2024

My discussion with Gabbi Hoopes, an economics major at Brigham Young University, return missionary, faithful Latter-Day Saint, and Kamala Harris voter. We dig in to her reasons for supporting Harris and how it relates to her faith.

Tuesday Oct 08, 2024

A brief overview of the concept of Perplexities of the Nation, foundational beliefs and topics to discuss. I explore the need for live discussion of difficult topics, the need for civility, and my fundamental beliefs about liberty, the use of force, and the U.S. Constitution. (Forgive the poor sound quality. Better production coming soon)
